We are pleased to announce that the first meeting of the PIARC Technical Committees on the latest road infrastructure and transport challenges took place in Paris from 5 to 7 February 2024. An important highlight of this meeting was the appointment of a new Technical Committee TC 4.5 on Decarbonisation of Road Construction and Maintenance.
Janusz Bohatkiewicz, PhD, Eng. President of EKKOM, was elected Chairman of this newly established Technical Committee. His commitment and experience in the field of road infrastructure represent a significant contribution to the development of sustainable decarbonisation strategies in the road sector.
It is also worth noting that in the current cycle, the Vice President, Maciej Halucha, PhD, Eng. serves as a member of PIARC Technical Committee 3.4, which deals with the environmental impact of road infrastructure and transport. Dr. Halucha has additionally become vice-chairman of a working group focused on the analysis of noise impacts in the context of road infrastructure.
